Fun in the Sun

So I finally took a much needed vacation. Life should be one big vacation! We took a cruise to the Bahamas and it was soooo much fun. We spent the first night at Cocoa Beach, I have to say I expected a little more but hey, you can't win them all! Our hotel was within walking distance of the beach so after dinner we found our way to the beach to take a few pics then headed back to the hotel.

Our cruise was leaving from Orlando which is why we opted to stay there, I would have preferred Miami but we had to go to the port.  We were on a Carnival cruise and this one was a little better than the first one I took a few years ago. The boat was a little newer but the food on the last cruise was better. We didn't participate in very many activities outside of getting in the hot tub. I tried to avoid the sun but it still kissed my skin. :|

He fell asleep... I had to. lol
We did the snorkeling excursion, the water was absolutely beautiful, and cold! Now, I'm the first to admit that I can't swim period but, give me some flippers and I'm a fish in the water! Or so I thought! I jumped in the water with those flippers and one came off, I just KNEW death was coming. I got it back on then my life jacket kept coming off, sweet baby Jesus I was a goner. lol
After snorkeling

Someone got a new camera.

Once we were back on the boat, we did the captains ball and took another million pictures. I had a massage gift certificate waiting on me and Lord knows I needed that. I slept the entire time ( we had open bar right before my massage). Our last day at sea was kind of choppy, the waters were rough so we felt every move the boat made. To make matters worse it rained a little bit. All in all, I had a great time. Looking forward to my next getaway, I see NYC in my immediate future!

Again, someone got a new camera. lol

Hello My Loves

Well well, look who's back.  I know I've been gone for almost a year but I've been super busy with work and school. Yes, I eventually found a job! As you all know I'm in school working on my Master's in HR and I found a job that's giving me some real world experience in HR. I started off in the office for a few days then the opportunity came to travel and I jumped on it! Anyone who knows me knows that I love to travel so this was perfect. While I didn't have time to sight see it was a great opportunity to do some HR/Recruiting a new experience that I was blessed to see. I'm now back in the office, it was an adjustment but I'm actually happy to be back.

While in New Orleans we worked reallllly long hours (10 or more) so there was rarely time for fun and sightseeing but we managed to always grab a bite to eat after work.

But it's absolutely beautiful

At Acme, this is a must go if you're ever in NO. He gave me a pearl

Then I did a stint in the DMV area, which was a change of pace. I looooved it out there. We had the biggest impact in this market but like the other markets it was work, hotel, work, hotel, work, hotel (you get it). lol We managed to have one free day so we ventured into the city to see the MLK memorial. It was ahhhhmazing!

The first King memorial. Yep, just a stone on the pavement

I LOVE this

Well my loves, as always...
