Yesterday was absolutely AMAZING I ended up on the guest list at a private charity event hosted by Dallas Austin. It was so private that no one knew the location until we were dropped off. Yep, dropped off. We had to park at a different location and get picked up by a shuttle and dropped off at the mansion. It was huge! We walked the rep carpet and had dozens of photographers taking our pictures. There was a black and white Rolls Royce parked in front and several in the back. There were free drinks being served all night long and a variety of food being served. Overall I had a great time and it was a great start to my birthday.

Do you Chase your Dreams

So, this past weekend I was invited to see a documentary entitled I am a Dream Chaser. It's a film produced by Darrick Patterson of Dapa productions about 4 individuals who moved to Atlanta to chase their dreams and are really successful the 5th person documented in the film is an Atlanta native. Famed photographer Derek Blanks (pictured above), fashion stylist and boutique owner Adrene Ashford, Tattoo Artist Miya Bailey, Dancer/Choreographer CiCi Kelly and Movie Producer Rob Hardy share their stories on how they following their dreams led to ultimate success.

I cannot tell you how much this movie inspired me. For me fashion is my truest passion and the reason I moved here. Most don't know that I'd LOVE to be a casting director for not only fashion shows but also movies and television. I know what I want, and now I need to figure out how to get there because I am surely chasing this dream. What about you? What are your dreams and what are you doing to make them your reality?

Passport to the Beautiful Life featuring R.Lynda Couture

My very first fashion event in Atlanta was a great kickoff! I joined my friend in fashion Designer Arlinda Norris of R.Lynda Couture (check the background picture) at an event where she was featured hosted by Layla K of Haute.Lanta Fashion Week. It was fabulous to say the least. Singer/Actress Tiffany Evans was Arlinda's live muse wearing two looks designed specifically for her. Tiffany was super sweet and looked awesome in the looks Arlinda designed.

I jumped right into the swing of things helping Arlinda get the models dressed at another location then getting them to the venue to get started. It wasn't a fashion show but more of a showing, the models made the garments come to life as they struck pose after pose for the photogs in attendance.

There were lots of fabulous fashion people in attendance networking and making connections. We ended the night on a high note snagging a photo shoot with recording artist Sean Garrett for Arlinda the next day which very eventful. All in all I give the event an A+ as it was a great first event for me!

Loving Atlanta

At the Caribbean festival

So I finally did it, I packed up my things and hit the road. It was secretly a little hard for me to uproot myself from all I've ever known and take this huge leap of faith. I've lived in Indiana all my life and here I am quitting a stable job which I enjoyed, leaving my apartment and most of my things behind to go to a new place without a job.. CRAZY! I'm still looking for a job but I'm really happy that I moved, I think in time this will be the best decision I've made for myself in a really long time. I've been doing a lot of networking and will be working with a new fashion and entertainment magazine called VOSE as well as Haute.lanta fashion week (hopefully)!

It looks like Kim and Kris Humphries, her boyfriend of 6 months are ready to take the next step in their relationship. I for one am happy for Kimmy if she's really engaged, I personally think it's too soon but look at Khloe got married really quick and seems happy so more power to them! I'm sure it was uncomfortable for her being the only sister not in a relationship! Apparently she got a really expensive ring made by Lorraine Schwartz. TMZ is reporting that its worth $2 million. Wow! Congrats Kim, don't forget my invite.. :)

A Royal Affair; Kate Middleton and Prince William

The day that millions of people have been anxiously awaiting has finally come to pass. Prince William (28) and Kate Middleton (29) wed in front of the entire world early this morning at 11:15 am or 6:15am ET. I actually slept through it, I didn't realize it would be so early. I can say that I haven't been waiting with baited breathe for this day but I did want to watch, luckily, it's on almost every website so I can watch whenever I'm ready.

Kate looked amazing in her white Sarah Burton wedding dress. I'm not a fan of traditional veils but Kate looked beautiful. I didn't realize she wasn't a "princess" but instead a "duchess" whatever, he's the prince, I'm referring to her as princess. The press has made sure to point out that she's the first "commoner" to marry royalty in over 350 years, I'm sure the other princesses are pissed she barged in and married the man they thought they were entitled to. lol Good for you Kate! A lot of young girls say they're going to be a princess when they grow up, I can't help but wonder if Kate was that little girl.

The newly weds sealed the deal with the traditional balcony kiss at Buckingham Palace. Congrats to the couple, I hope they have lots of little ones to carry on the family name.

So anyone who follows my blog knows that I love and adore Sarah Jessica Parker/Carrie Bradshaw. Parker attended the 2011 Brooklyn Artist Ball in New York City last night. She wore a stunning Lanvin dress and paired it with a Chanel tweed jacket. I don't love the jacket but I love SJP and Chanel and in my eyes, she can do no wrong. I love Lanvin and SJP looked amazing!

Easter 2011 with the Obama's

Apparently the White House is the place to be for Easter, the annual Easter egg roll took place this past Sunday at the White House. It appeared to be a star studded event complete with a performance from Willow Smith. The children also enjoyed story time with the Obama's. Sasha and Malia took turns reading Where the Wild Things Are and Mr. & Mrs. Obama read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.

There were literally thousands of kids in attendance rolling eggs and having a great time with the Obama family. Also in attendance was the Simmons family including Russell. It still amazes me that the President is African American.

Midwest Fashion Week Founder, Berny Martin showed his Catou collection during the Midwest Fashion Week Finale show. This new collection is by far my favorite of all, I've already requested 3 pieces that I BETTER have before I move in 5 weeks. lol In true Catou form Martin put his own signature spin on his menswear collection by lining the insides of the suits with colorful material. I don't know how he has time to design a collection and plan an entire fashion week, I was stressed so I can only imagine how stressed he had to of been with all of that! Check out the pieces!

Award-winning designer Antonio Fermin showcased his current collection during the Midwest Fashion Week finale show. The collection themed "From a Swan to a Bride" opened with two models wearing wedding dresses doing ballet impression of Swan down the runway. A variety of amazing bridal and formal dresses followed the opening!

Actress turned Designer Michael Michele graced Indiana with a preview of her new collection M. Michele designs. Michael's collection had something for everyone of every body size and height but is marketed more towards the professional business woman. The collection is a mix of well tailored suits, dresses, tops and skirts. I for one would love to have a few of the pieces in my closet!

Michael Michele created a piece for her mother to wear during the show and honey, Mrs. Williams had a lot of sass! She seemed a little nervous before going out but when she got out there, you would have thought walking the runway was something she did regularly!

I have to say that Michael Michele is VERY nice and personable, I've met a few other celebrities that didn't want to deal with "common folks" and you couldn't pay them to speak. My experience with Michael Michele was very pleasant, every time I spoke with her she was very nice. She was EXTREMELY nice to the models, she gave everyone a hug and thanked them for coming. I found her to be a very "hands-on" designer, down to her selection of the shoes each model would wear.

Bryan K Osburn for Midwest Fashion Week

Bryan Osburn from Chicago came to town and proved that fashion isn't something that Chicago is lacking. His collections of dresses left the crowd asking "where can I buy those dresses". The finale dress above was my personal favorite. The way the pieces moved on the runway literally left me in awe. I'm hoping that this collection will return to the runway in October!

R.Lynda for Midwest Fashion Week

Despite what the critics say about the show, I think the collections were great ! There was at least one piece from every collection that I LOVED. I actually loved the entire R.Lynda collection and although I made a faux promise to myself to stay away from black, I want this collection hanging in my closet. I'd even make a special section for it separate from my ever growing black section already in place. This also happens to be the collection that I have set as my background.

What I love about this collection is that it's totally wearable right off the runway and it's a reflection of Arlinda. you can tell she took her time and put a lot of thought into each garment. When I see these pieces I see Arlinda the person, she's very fashionable and ALWAYS looks great! This is the type of stuff she would wear and it just looks great! In more Arlinda news, she's opening her very first boutique in a few weeks, how exciting!

Suri Cruise: Small Adult or Child?

Is she 5 or 12? I can't tell

Some people shouldn't be allowed to raise a kid. I said it last year around this time and I'll say it again, Tom and Katie are raising Suri all wrong. She's only 5 and they're letting her live life the way she wants to instead of teaching her right from wrong. I can imagine all of the trouble she's going to get into as an adult because she didn't learn anything as a child, she'll be worse than Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. Her parents are going to wonder where they went wrong, all they'll need to do is look this post. It's ok to play dress up at home but Suri walks out of the house looking like a midget adult sometimes. And that DAMN lipstick, why?

There is something terrible wrong with a parent who lets their child eat penis shaped candy. I don't care that it's gummy candy or that she may or may not know what a penis is, she shouldn't be exposed to those types of things. Where the hell do they sell those other than a sex shop anyway? At what point does CPS step in and investigate the Cruise family? I can't help but wonder what Tom and Katie's parents think about the way they're raising Suri.

Midwest Fashion Week 2011: My POV

It's finally over! The text messages and emails have slowed down and my phone is back to ringing maybe once every other day! This season was definitely more stress than any other season but it was lots of fun. It was very bittersweet for me because I will finally be moving out of Indiana and will miss all of the amazing people I've met along my journey in fashion! I attempted to have all of the models who were there in the beginning come back for this last show but hey, you can't win them all!

The scene backstage was pretty hectic, we had a small amount of space, about 35 models, lots of volunteers, hair and make-up teams and a lot of designers (7) who also brought assistants and others with them. If you can imagine you're at the circus and you see 12 clowns getting out of a two seater, then you will have painted yourself an accurate picture of the space to people ratio backstage.

Once all of the hair and make-up people arrived things began to calm down a little and I was able to sneak away to attempt to do my hair and make-up. Thank God for Nikk from Broad Ripple Hair Design because she was a life saver, my hair was totally out of control.

So on to the show, I thought it was great. I can honestly say there was at least one piece from every collection that I wanted to take home and hang in my already crowded closet. Although we had volunteers, I some how allowed myself to get stuck backstage and didn't get to see much of the show. The crowd seemed to really enjoy the show although there was some confusion as to whether or not it was a fashion show or charity event and some people left rather upset for one reason or another. I would like to personally apologize to anyone who felt as if they were mistreated because to me, you're all an important part of the growth and development of Midwest Fashion Week!

Midwest Fashion Week Emerging from Old to New School!

As usual a day late and dollar short but hey, I’m a busy woman. Let’s jump right in; Tuesday nights Emergence Fashion Show put on by Midwest Fashion Week, produced by Ian Stikeleather was overall a great show. Taking into account that this was his first show, Ian did an awesome job. The runway was long and had proper lighting; he bought food and beverages for the models! The show was heavily attended and there were at least 10 STUDENT designers. It’s important to point out that ALL of the designers were college students with the exception of one, who is still in high school.

Some of the designers were amazing, the show opener Christelle Jonqet was really strong and the audience seemed really captured by her pieces. My personal favorite most was Daryl Bonner her pieces were well constructed, elegant and ready-to-wear. How do I know? Well, this just happened to be the first show I was able to sit and watch. I’m always running around behind stage so it was great to sit and actually enjoy a show. I sat front row next to Leslie and Terrence with Lmodelz.

As the show went on I did notice a few pins sticking out and tape that seemed to be pulling the skin off the back of one of the models (it looked really weird) but other than that the clothes were really nice. I love the student shows because they’re new designers, still learning their craft and perfecting their work. There will always be mistakes made; some of the designers were still sewing moments before the show started. During the finale show last year there were designers sewing models into dresses, there was visible tape and an inappropriate dress or two. Bottom line is, some things shouldn’t go down the runway especially if they’re not completely finished. At the end of the day, you want your clothes to represent you and if you’re putting out shitty work, people will think you’re a shitty designer. However; when you’re still a student, it’s kind of acceptable because you’re still learning. (I didn’t think any of the designers from the show had shitty work that was a general statement)

I have to say this because I’m partially responsible; some of the “models” left a lot to be desired. I understand that some of them were friends of the student designer and it was a student show, but they shouldn’t have been on the runway. If you have a model that has a belly bulge, she shouldn’t wear fitted clothes. It’s distracting and all you’re focusing on is the fat. Well maybe not you, but me. Two of the models I selected for this show weren’t quite ready for the runway and for that I apologize. I read on another blog that a model fell down, that’s only half true. The model stumbled but recovered gracefully and never hit the ground. This particular model while slightly shorter than the rest, has the potential to be on the cover of EVERY fashion magazine that you can think of.

If I had to give this show a grade, I’d give it an A. Not because I’m associated with Midwest Fashion Week, but because it was a great show, everyone worked really hard and for his first show, Ian did one hell of a job! I was also impressed that Ian managed to find a menswear designer (FLC International)! Love their pieces!

Midwest Fashion Week Children's Show/Brunch

As usual I'm late with my posts BUT, with good reason. I'm running around like crazy trying to keep up with everything.

The show was held at Bella Vita Geist (amazing views) this past Sunday. Things started out a bit hectic, I got a little lost and a lot of the kids were already there when we arrived. As expected, they were all over the place but it was evident they were having fun. I convinced my very fickle niece Shaniece to participate in the show. For some reason she thought all of the kids were going to walk down the runway together. Midway down the runway she started fiddling with her hands, tears in her eyes. By the time she got to the end of the runway she was crying and really upset, I'm going to make a start out of her. lol

Luckily all of the other kids walked down the runway like pro's and they all looked so cute in their clothes. We had designer Stephanie Williams of Blue Eyes and Bare Feet, Kalpana, Hartstrings and KC Parker and Shoppers World for teens. The kids who walked for Hartstrings, KC Parker and SW were all able to keep their clothes! Fun times, everyone was excited. To close the evening, Blue from the Indianapolis Colts came and took pictures with the kids! Thanks to all who came out and supported the show!

Midwest Fashion Week: Let the Craziness Begin

Well, we're finally here. All of our hard work is about to be put on display for all to see, love and judge. I for one have worked my ass of on this project. Managing the models and designers has proven to be very stressful this season. We have more shows this season than ever before so I've been doing double the work. And, as if the shows we'd been planning for weren't enough, Berny sprand a brand new show on me. I had 4 days to find models and a hair team to pull this off. Sure, give me more work, the anxiety attack I had Wednesday was no big deal.

So, we are kicking off our week of shows today at Grace boutique at the Fashion Mall. It's a free show and starts at 2pm, everyone is welcome! Tomorrow is the children's show at Bella Vita in Geist, I'm sure that show will be lots of fun but equally as stressful because of all of the children. I'm trying to get my niece to do it but she's so fickle. I'll post pictures of all of the shows as soon as I can make time to get back on here. I seriously haven't had much time to even do my homework. I was up until 2:00 a.m. yesterday getting caught up. Anyway, that's all for now.

Midwest Fashion Week Winter/Fall 2011 Meet The Designers

I've been so busy working with Midwest Fashion Week that I completely forgot it was New York Fashion Week, silly me. This season we have a fabulous list of designers and I can't wait to show you their collections. My plan is to get behind the scenes footage, interviews and pictures to show you all!

I don't know if you've taken the time to look at the Midwest Fashion Week website to see who we have on board so I'll give you a quick rundown.

Actress turned Designer Michael Michele is previewing her new collection M Michele Design by Michael Michele. I personally had no clue she was now a designer but I can't wait to see her collection. Michael told me that she was a very "hands-on" designer so I'm sure this collection will be nothing short of fabulous! I will provide you with a link to her website once it's available.

Arlinda is one of the hottest new designers out. Here line R.Lynda has been featured in news papers, fashion tv shows and usually sells out on the website as soon as the pieces are available. If you haven't already, visit her site, I'm sure you'll find something you love! (that's her closet, her husband built it for her). I'll be doing an interview with Arlinda during the show!

International Award-winning Designer Antonio Fermin will be showing his new bridal collection. If you're looking for a quality dress then this is your guy. Not only are his dresses fabulous they're one of a kind. You don't have to worry about seeing another bride in your dress. My good friend Mr. Fermin will also be interviewed!

The Sachika twins To-Nya and To-Tam showed the Fall/Winter 2011 collection February 16th during New York Fashion Week and it was nothing short of amazing. Willow "Whip My Hair" Smith's New Photo Shoot

The jury is out on Willow Smith's new photo shoot with Teen Vogue and people aren't being nice. Most think that Willow is being forced into the spot light against her will but it looks to me like she's enjoying every moment. I've read blogs that talked about how "grown" she looks and her over the top wardrobe but I disagree ~~(for now).~~ I don't feel like her shoots are "doing too much" or "ott" and her clothes are very age appropriate. If she's happy and enjoying herself why knock her?

If anyone should find a problem with something it should be her lack of education. Willow (10) doesn't seem to be able to read very well. She's been home schooled part-time and it doesn't appear that she's learning much. I feel like the focus should be on education and less on performing. But, who am I? lol

When asked about her personal style Smith said:
“I wear anything I feel like. If I want to put on a pair of Converse with a pencil stuck through them, I will. [Dolce & Gabbana’s] designs are really cool.”

Kim Kardashians Worst Week Ever

The pictures that Kim cried about on the latest episode of Kourtney and Kim take New York have hit the press. I can see why she was upset, there's nothing artistic about the pictures which show her breast and butt. You can actually see her nipples. Maybe the art they were talking about was the tin-man paint that's covering her body. I hope she's learned to keep her clothes on.

In other Kim Kardashian news, Prince kicked her off of the stage last night at his "Welcome to America" concert.. He asked Kim to come on stage and dance however, when he realized she wasn't dancing he said "get off the stage" and off she went. That's pretty embarrassing. On the positive side, she looked really pretty and I love that dress!

Two nights ago the lovely and always fabulous Michelle Obama wore a red Alexander McQueen dress to the state dinner for President Hu Jintao of China. Mrs. Obama's sense of style has been likened to the late but oh so fabulous Jackie Kennedy Onasis. I'm really happy that Mrs. Obama doesn't hide behind frumpy clothes, she has a great shape, nice arms and she likes to show them off! Like her or not, our FLOTUS is fabulous! So once again I didn't watch the awards but I did check out the fashions and I WAS NOT impressed. Who the hell dressed these celebs. I can say that I HATED most of the dresses on the red carpet. My list of looks I loved is much shorter than the list I hated. There was one dress that I can say I hated the most but I'll save that for last. Eva Longoria (pictured above) was my favorite. She looked AMAZING in Zac Posen. I can hear my mother's voice as I write this "who made you a fashion critic" lol. She thinks I'm too critical.

Monday Night FashionTM is a sports themed and male-activity fashion event that will benefit Down Syndrome Indiana. The honorary chairs are former IU Head Coach Bill Lynch and Ball State assistant coach Bobby Lynch. The featured activities may include football-themed games, virtual racing, golf simulations, liquor tasting, and cigar lounge. The runway fashion show will include active and sportswear designs for men and women; models will include professional athletes. Through this lunch forum the International Center of Indianapolis will host a panel discussion that highlights the importance of personal style in cross-generational & cross-cultural workplace environments. Panelists will explore topics such as: (1) How the definition of "professional" varies culturally and generationally; (2) How personal style and cultural & generational identity impacts creativity/innovation, career advancement, and the sophistication & global quotient of Indiana in the world economy; (3) Tips for encouraging and supporting personal style in establishing an inclusive workplace environment. Guests will also experience an exhibition of contemporary workplace fashions that demonstrate the authenticity of various cultural identities, body types, generational perspectives, and industry roles. You have two days left to get all of your shopping finished! How quick did this year end? It feels like it was JUST Christmas and we're right here again. I, thankfully am finished with my shopping. I didn't buy a lot of Christmas gifts this year like I usually do because for me, the day isn't about presents and a fat man dressed in a red suit. I look at Christmas as celebrating the birth of Jesus, spending time with your family and having a extra day off work (just kidding... kinda) lol But in all seriousness, the day isn't about gift giving unless it's for the less fortunate. I bought gifts for my loved ones and it looks like I owe my boss a gift since he decided to buy me a book on Excel which by the way is more beneficial to him than me but anyway. lol So, what's on your Christmas wish list?! Sorry my loves for leaving you abandoned for so long. My life has been so busy lately. I don't know if I told you all but I'm back in school working on an MSM in HR and it takes up so much of my time. The good thing is I earned an "A" in my first class so I was pretty excited about that. I'm also working pretty hard on the next fashion show for Midwest Fashion Week and that's taking up the other half of my time. I've been recruiting designers answering emails and just doing everything other than updating my blog. So sorry!

How was your Thanksgiving? Mine was pretty eventful to say the least. I was excited that I got to see my family and my best friend Kim who lives in New York (my happy place). My sister and I did some shopping on black Friday and for some reason I ended up in Wal-Mart everyday that I was home. The first day I got there I ended up losing my car keys in Wal-Mart so I was pretty pissed about that. I got them back after about an hour but by then I was annoyed and ready to drive two hours back my place.

Ok so I changed my hair. Its natural but I used to wear it straight all the time. Now I'm all about wearing it in it's natural state and as nice as it looks in person it just doesn't photograph well. So that my loves is why I look like I'm wearing a wig. lol It's all my hair. :)

KLS Gold Winners

If you all remember at the end of October I posted a blog about Kimora Lee Simmons looking for "real women" to be the face of her new KLS Gold cosmetic line. Thousands of ladies submitted their pictures in hopes of winning this exciting opportunity and out of those Kimora selected 8 beautiful women. I'm excited because I personally know one of the young ladies selected. I helped her get into modeling and now she's modeling for Kimora. Her name is Maria, she's a gorgeous and smart young lady. I'm so proud of you Maria! Actually there were two women from Indiana selected. The second in Tamika. I don't know her personally but one of my good friends knows her. Congrats to both of the ladies and all of the other winners! How exciting.

Prince William and Kate Middleton Engaged!

The world just learned that Prince William has finally proposed to his longtime super stylish girlfriend Kate Middleton. Apparently he popped the question while they were visiting Kenya last month. He gave her his mother Princess Diana's ring. That's super sweet. I've been waiting for these two to get engaged. They've been dating for 8 years! They'll be wed sometime in the spring or summer of 2011!

Google has teamed up with many of our favorite celeb fashionista's and will be unveiling their new online shopping site boutiques.com! I for one am excited about this because I'm always looking for some place new to shop. I'm sure much of the stuff will be overpriced so I'll wait it out for sale time! I'm not sure what to expect but I'm sure it will be fabulous and even better than Ebay which I absolutely love.

Carrie Bradshaw (I know she's SJP but she'll always be my Carrie Bradshaw) is rumored to be one of the the fashionista's confirmed to open an online boutique. That will be a bookmarked boutique! Anyway, I'll report back tomorrow hopefully with pics from the party Google is having for their unveiling!

******* Ok, I haven't seen SJP's boutique but I am IN LOVE. WOW! This site is amazing. They let you create your own boutique based off of what you love and hate i.e. designers, colors, patters, dress style, you get my point. But they have something for every budget. Catou Spring/Summer 2011

Berny Martin's latest collection from his label Catou is now available for purchase. I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of said collection because it's always so fashion forward. His collections of suits for men have always been well tailored with lots of details. My favorite is the coats he designs for women (I have one myself that I LOVE). What I love most about Martin's pieces is that he always does something totally unexpected. The back of the jacket below is totally out!

Martin said camouflage was his inspiration for this collection. He feels civilians should wear camouflage so they can blend in with nature which he sees as peaceful. All they're missing is a clothing line. I didn't see this happening when I first started hearing about Kim Kardashian but now they are all doing something. Even one of the younger sisters Kendall is modeling and she's gorgeous, they all are!

Kim and Kourtney are doing a spin-off of the spin-off Khloe and Kourtney take Miami. Kim and Kourtney are opening a Dash boutique in Manhattan and are there filming their show. I absolutely LOVE New York so I can't wait to watch their new show. Little sister Khloe is now happily married to LA Lakers superstar Lamar Odom, being a newlywed and living so far from her husband wasn't working so I guess she's back in LA enjoying married life!

There are people who dislike or even hate the Kardashians because they say the family is famous for doing nothing but how can you hate that? I'd like to be rich and famous for simply doing nothing but we can't all be so fortunate. I personally don't see a problem with it. These girls literally took nothing and turned it into something. A huge empire and they are the brand. You can't knock that. Hate it or love it they aren't going any where any time soon, not with their mom, Kris Jenner making sure they stay on top! I know their father (may he rest in peace) was a big attorney but I don't think he has much to do with their success. They are making things happen for themselves. You HAVE to love that!

Lastly, Kim Kardashian announced on her blog they will be introducing a new prepaid credit card that will available in just 9 days on November 10th. How exciting! Congrats to the Kardashian family on all of their success, may God continue to bless you!

What’s your personal sense of style?
ummmm… I’d have to say I keep it up scale. I’m not one for labels or brands (except when it comes to watches). If I like it, I will wear it… it will fit me and will not be hanging off of me. I will rock from Rock and Republic to Three Piece Suits, v-neck or ascot! But you will never see me in coogi.

I do believe the watch sets it all off… sure you can get some nice jeans and a nice shirt… your shoe game has to match and the overlooked part is watch… and it doesn’t have to be large and or gaudy, but classy n match the color scheme and the genre of the outfit.

What do you do for fun?
Relax!!! Because I don’t get to do it often. But I like poetry spots, jazz music, that type of relax atmosphere. I work in the nightlife so the clubs are not generally my first attraction.

Do have or want children?
I do not have any children of my own. I am still in the life of my ex’s daughter who I consider my own.

I want children of my own. At least a daughter and definitely a son! Idealistically I would like 4 children but not absolutely set on it.

Would you date a woman with children?
I would date a woman with children if she had interest in more.

What do you look for in a woman?

One that doesn’t ask me “ooh, what is you!”

My intent is to eventually become a Pastor, so the first thing that I look for in a woman is that she has a relationship with God. She has to be cultured and outgoing, intelligent and able to hold intelligent conversations. She has to be comfortable in her own skin. It is an absolute turn off if a female is not confident in herself and needs someone else to feel important, or complete. I would like to meet a female that would enjoy going to a movie as well as a musical, a basketball game and a play, and has a desire to work in ministry.

I wont go into anything physical… I do have physical standards, but I do believe that it is a bit vain to mention them because at times they can be compromised. I know that if you want a relationship to last you have to build it upon things that last. Looks, appearances, and physic always change. Character, integrity, intelligence, and confidence are stronger foundations to build a relationship upon.

What does it take to make and keep you happy?
that is a loaded question! Satisfying those things that I look for in a woman would make and keep me happy. Continuing to grow in those areas and maintaining a desire to grow in those areas would keep me happy.

What are your feelings on marriage? Are you ready to settle down and get married?
I can go on for days about marriage!!! I actually am writing 2 books on marriage now. I have the book marks out for them already. They are 10 Commandments To A Godly Husband and 10 Commandments To A Godly Wife.

To keep it short I will say, I believe God is the author of the institution of Marriage and has a lot to say about it in scripture. I believe that he designed marriage and I believe that design is well laid out and will attempt to follow that design.

God designed man to be the head and holds him responsible for being the priest, provider, and protector of his family. It is not to be misunderstood that the man is then the dictator to his wife for scripture explains that the man is to be the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. Christ never demanded but served and gave his life for the church. So marriage is a committed relationship between a man and a woman where the man devotes his life to the wellbeing of his wife, and the wife out of gratitude returns the action.

My belief is that marriage should be one and done! I will do everything in my power to choose the right mate and everything in my strength to maintain the marriage. Am I ready for marriage? I am ready to find a woman who I can potentially marry!

Tell me something about yourself that I haven’t asked but may be important?
I’ve been a dj for over 15 years, worked in audio engineering for the same amount of time. Worked for major and independent record labels since 16 and taught myself piano around that time as well. Music is relaxing to me, well real music that exemplifies creativity.

I serve in the audio/video department and youth department at my church and have been faithful there for 6 years now. I graduate with my Pastoral Theology Degree this may!!!

Well, I'll tell you that I don't go out with certain expectations because there are several different qualities and combinations of qualities that I find attractive and enjoyable. Since I work in the fields of fitness and human performance, a person that takes care of themselves physically and gives unselfishly does initially catch my eye. However, it's not a first impression that does it for me, but more the lasting impression they leave that will truly influence me. Some of the characteristics that may sway me are humility, integrity, ambition, confidence, optimism, quality communication, independence, caring, supportive, among other things. Like I said, I don't specifically look for these, but when I see them I take note.

What does it take to make and keep you happy?
I believe happiness is a choice, it's not something created by outside things, events or situations. I choose to be happy everyday so I'll tell you I don't need much. That being said I'm sure I could think of many things that would enhance that happiness.

What are your feelings on marriage? Are you ready to settle down and get married?
When I think of marriage, I think of my grandparents who have been married for over 60 yrs. That's beautiful! That's amazing! That type of commitment and dedication to each other is definitely something I look forward to in the near future. If I found that person tomorrow then I'd absolutely be ready to take the next step.

I volunteer a lot of my time to charitable foundations like American Diabetes Association and American Cancer Society. I also model for fun in my free time. I think marriage should be taken very seriously and looked at as a spiritual covenant between yourself and your soulmate. However I do believe that the chips should naturally fall into place, so if you have to force it, then it's not meant to be. I am definitely ready to settle down and get married once I meet my future husband. I don't think he's going to "find me" so to speak, I think it's going to be mutual and we're going to find each other. It's the next chapter in my life that I'm very excited about!

Hmmm, well here are my thoughts on love. Love, in my eyes, should be like that flowing stream in the middle of a valley. You may have to tread through some rough terrain in order to find it, it may seem far away like a mirage, but it definitely exists and once you do reach it, the reward is so peaceful and refreshing that it will make you forget about the journey it took you to get there! Don't focus on the journey, focus on the destination, and once you get there, use your past experiences and the skills you learned in order to maintain the freshness and purity of that stream.

Lanvin for H&M

In September H&M confirmed they would be collaborating with Lanvin for a mens and womenswear collection set to debut November 23. I personally can't wait because I've been anticipating this collection since I read it on Instyle. 200 stores will carry the collection, unfortunately I don't think the stores in my city will be lucky enough to even see the pieces which means I'll have to go to Chicago. Road trip! The H&M website will show images of the collection in a short film November 2nd so make sure to tune in!

MAC Cosmetics Sneak Peek

I don't know if I've told you but I'm back in school working on an MSM in HR and I've been so overwhelmed with school work, real life and work. Yesterday I skipped my homework to attend the M.A.C. Cosmetics Holiday Sneak peek with my fashion friend Christy Cripe Pastore over at Fashion Wrap UP . Myself and model Amy Beers won tickets for being followers of her fabulous fashion blog. It was fun to get out of the house and catch up with my fashion friends as I've been MIA for quite a while.

Upon arrival they checked us in, gave us our makeup selection card then sent us off to enjoy the event which was pretty fun overall. There were hor' d'oeuvres (ok, I googled and there are like three different ways to spell that word, geesh) and cocktails that were soo tasty. The makeup which they named "A Tartan Tale" was pretty awesome, even though I ended up not buying anything. I love the different names they came up with especially for the eye shadows (golden crown, a wish come true, follow your fantasy and glamour castle) to name a few.

Moving right along...there's nothing like a MAN who has a relationship with the LORD, who's about his business, who knows and understands that CHIVALRY is very much ALIVE, who can make me laugh until my stomach hurts, who realizes that BLACK WOMAN are Sugar Honey Ice Tea, who keeps me on my toes, challenges me to do better, encourages me to want more, and accepts me flaws and all. I could go on, and on, and on for days, but I have things to do lol...

Hate to sound corny, but the little things really do matter the most! Detail is very important!

Marriage is definitely on my TO DO list and no, not because I get to wear a pretty dress and have all of my family and friends together for a big party (even though all that sounds great)! The Wedding

So over the weekend my babe and I went to his co-workers wedding. I won't give my thoughts on the actual wedding because I don't know who reads my blog (Just watch the video, you'll catch my drift) but I will say that Saturday was such a great day for a wedding the wedding was perfect. The location was really nice, there was a nice size crowd in attendance. The people at my table were hilarious and shared my same views on the wedding so that made for some good laughs. Some of the people there were dressed like they were going to the club. I felt realllly overdressed and I shouldn't have because you're supposed to dress up for weddings. The were grown women in leggings, tutu's, club clothes, folks were walking around in Christmas socks, one of the bridesmaids had chopsticks in her hair (yep, the ones people wore in the 90's), a old man invited me on a cruise in the presence of my man.

This is such a detailed question for me because I know what I want, need, and desire out of a woman; so I will try and be brief. I like a woman who has a great personality, who can laugh and have a good time but also be serious and handle business when need be. I like a woman who’s independent but not to the point she feels she doesn’t need a man. I would be lying if I didn’t say I look for a woman who’s attractive and easy on the eyes. I like a woman who has a certain “jazziness” about herself. It’s hard for me to explain; I just know it when I see it. I think it would be the female version of swag if I had to sum it up. I enjoy a woman who presents herself well. This is from the hair, clothes, body, etc. I also like a woman who’s assertive and knows what she wants. Last but certainly not least, she has to have some Jesus in her life.

What does it take to make and keep you happy?

Not, much… I just want to be able to laugh, feel appreciated for the things I do, and respected for the man that I am. One thing that makes me happy and impresses me at the same time would be a woman who takes the time and effort to learn me. If you do that, you will see that the simple things in life mean the most to me.

What are your feelings on marriage? Are you ready to settle down and get married?

I think marriage is a great thing. I look forward to experiencing it for myself. My parents are still together after 29 years and I believe I am the man I am today because I was able to have them both in the household. I can’t say that I am ready for marriage right now because I don’t think you know that until you are with the person that gives you that feeling. I do want to be married but don’t have a time constraint. I am, however, ready for a significant other to share a relationship with and work towards that next phase, which is marriage.

Who remembers the "slap bracelets" from their childhood? I do I loved them! Now that I'm an adult, slap bracelets aren't my thing but I know some of my blog readers are still in their early 20's and into the new "it" thing so read on. Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born and raised in Indianapolis. Lived in Atlanta, GA while getting my BA in Marketing from CAU (Clark Atlanta University). I also resided in Durham, NC for a little bit. I'm 1 of 10 children. I'm just a cool, laid back person that is slow to angry but quick to help someone or make them laugh. I consider myself a realist and live my life by the motto "Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst". And I try to treat those how I want to be treated, while on my walk with Christ.

What's your sense of style?
Comfortably Cosmopolitan! I don't buy into fad or trendy clothing. A nice pair of jeans and button down will never go out of style. I prefer clothes that exhibit function over style.

What do you do for fun?
I like doing anything physical or competitive. I'm an avid basketball player and bowler. I like to challenge myself mentally and physically. I like to get together with friends and chill. I'm a bit of an adrenaline junky and like doing anything that elevates my heart rate...lol.

Do you have or want children?
No, I don't have any children but want 3. Preferably a boy 1st and at least 1 girl.

Would you date a woman with children?

Yes, I would and have. I think in this day and age it is pretty common for a woman to have at least 1 child and I wouldn't want to miss out on a good woman because of penalizing her for having a child. Plus I get a sneak preview of what kind of mother she is.

What do you look for in a woman?

The Infamous List…lol. Confidence through humility, God-fearing, good sense of humor, open-minded, supportive, honest, sensual, affectionate, a giving and kind spirit, driven, cares about her appearance and shape but doesn‘t obsess over it, and possesses like minded goals with me. Basically in a nut shell someone I am equally yoked with.

What does it take to make and keep you happy?

Support and a youthful spirit. I want someone that I can laugh and have fun with but handles her busy when the time is appropriate. Someone that if there is a time I am weak she gives me strength. A woman that will allow me to take the lead in the relationship and trusts that I will not guide us astray. And a little cooking never hurts. :)

What are your feelings on marriage? Are you ready to settle down and get married?
Marriage...that topic has come up a lot recently. I don’t think a person can be truly ready for marriage just open to it. I definitely believe in the sanctity of marriage, but approach it with caution. I don't want my marriage to be an experiment but rather a conclusion. So when God shows me the person he has intended for me I'll go all in, and love my wife as he loves me.

Tell me something about yourself that I haven’t asked but may be important?
I am very analytical. Things need to make sense to me, and I hate the unknown. I am also a big car and movie buff. My directness and bluntness can come off abrasive, but is never intended in a malicious way. I try to find joy in all aspects of life. I plan to start my own business, but am still soul searching as to what that will be.

I think children are a blessing and I have a heart for those of them in need but as of now, unless I eventually adopt a child who needs a loving home, I do not believe having children is for me.

What do you look for in a man?
I look for someone who is also a Christian. I have dated people who were not in the past and it does not work because my spirituality is such an integral part of who I am, a relationship is just incomplete if I cannot share that with my partner. I also look for a person who is a diligent worker, has goals/ambition, patient, slow to anger, and kind to others. I think it’s only fair to ask for qualities in a mate that you possess yourself and I believe I hold these qualities as well or at least I try to every day! :)

I think marriage is a beautiful institution and symbol of a couple's commitment to each other. Personally, though, I believe a lot of people don't take it as seriously as they should these days. Some think, "Well, we've been together for years now; I guess we might as well get married." To me, that's not a good enough reason. My grandparents were married for 50 years and my parents for 30. Of course they had many hard times but they were teammates and best friends and life without each other never entered in the equation.
Call me an idealist but before I get married, I’m going to ask myself, "Can I live without this person? Does this person make me want to be a better person? Is this person one of the best things that's ever happened to me?”

I think it’s also about managing expectations when a person gets married. I have spoken to married friends of mine and a lot of them say it’s not what they expected. I need to be prepared to compromise and think of another person before I make a decision. A wonderful idea I heard years ago was that every morning you wake up next to your spouse, you ask yourself, “What can I do to make this person’s day better?” I’m currently not ready to settle down and get married but that does not mean I would turn away The One if he came across my path.

Tell me something about yourself that I haven’t asked but may be important?
I love to help people. One of my favorite things to do is go horseback riding and I’ve used that to help others through working with different equine therapy centers. Also, I have found that you can determine the maturity of a man (or anyone) by how he treats people he doesn't know or those who he can gain nothing from, i. e., cashiers, salespeople, etc. and the way a man regards his mother/sisters is a good indication of how he will treat his significant other. Those benchmarks have never failed me.
