Indy 500 Fashion Show

Today was the annual Cara Charities Indy 500 fashion show and it was just as fabulous as I expected. This is the second year I've had the pleasure of being involved and it was even better than before. The models were great and the clothes they wore were even better. Designer Berny Martin of Catou provided the clothes for the show and they were outstanding. One-by-one the models showed off Martin's designs and the crowd loved it. Several race car drivers modeled Martin's designs as well. It was an event that you should hate you missed. Annnnd, I met Ms. America 2009 who just so happens to be from Indiana. She's beautiful. Mixed Leopard Prints: Do You Dare

Fashionista Rihanna is wearing a mismatched Dolce and Gabbana leopard print dress. I love animal prints and would probably try this dress on. Of course it looks great on Rihanna's killer body and wouldn't look nearly as good on me but I'd definitely give it a try. What about you, do you dare?

Sex and The City 2 Premiere

The Sun Finally Came Out

After waiting for a nice sunny day I finally got it. There was so much to do today, charity fashion show, family bbq, shopping and movies. Well, needless to say I didn't get to everything on my list I did however make it to the bbq and shopping. Macy's is havng a GREAT sale! I was able to rack up. They're having a buy one get one free sale, nothing makes me happier. I got jeans and dresses! Here are a couple of pics of me from the bbq.

Coach sues The City of Chicago

According to a report from Reuters, Coach is suing the City of Chicago for allegedly allowing the Maxwell Street Market to sale knock-off handbags. Coach filed the $2 million lawsuit on Wednesday stating they’d suffered “substantial damages” as a result of the sales.

Apparently a Coach representative acted as a “secret shopper” and purchased a “Coach” handbag for $18 and a “Chanel” handbag for $24. Both vendors were arrested and 351 “Coach” bags were seized. On an earlier visit to the Market the same representative discovered several of the 300 vendors were selling counterfeit products in plain view.

It looks like Coach is trying to make an example out of the City of Chicago just like they did Kmart when they sued the company for selling luggage with a print similar to theirs. My thing is, fakes are faux fabulous and you’re doing yourself a huge disservice by buying and carrying but so is buying knock-offs. People that carry the real version of what you bought for $24 know that yours is fake. I say if you can’t afford the real thing go without. Not only are you making a bad fashion statement, you’re also contributing to terrorism. Harper’s Bazaar has a campaign against knock-offs that goes in to great detail.

Cycling Shorts: Do You Dare

Like every other article of clothing from the 80's and before cycling shorts (or biker shorts as I used to call them) are making a comeback and I'm not talking about while working out. They were all over the runway this season and have now found their way onto city streets. Its one thing to wear these at the gym but to incorporate them into your daily look might be a little extreme. I will say that they give the DKNY look a pop of color but I don't think I'd dare wear them outside of the gym. I could so see Carrie Bradshaw wearing the last look from the Charlotte Ronson collection pictured below but I can't see myself in it. How about you, do you dare?

What To Wear: Charolette York

Ok, I love this look but I don't think Charolette would ever wear those shoes. I would love love love to see her in them. Now, this isn't something that you'd wear to the movies unless you were going with a group of women doing a SATC theme. Is Miley Cyrus Toxic?

She may not be but according to an investigation done by the Associated Press her jewelry collection sold at Wal-Mart is. Apparently the jewelry contains high levels of cadmium, a toxin that can have damaging affects on the kidneys. That’s not fabulous.

SATC 2: What to wear

Well ladies and gentlemen, we are almost one week away from the movie we've been waiting for all year. That's right, Sex And The City 2 will be making its big screen debut next week and I for one can't wait. Trying to find something to wear to the show, no worries, I'm going to attempt to update you daily with my own version of recreated looks from the new SATC that I've found on the internet. Here's my first look, it's a simple white outfit that's very easy to do. It's a with top with skinny jeans, chuck taylors and a bag. I say if you're going to the movies you can ditch the duffel bag and mini suitcase and pick up a fab bag! Have fun putting your look together and always remember to look fabulous no matter where you're going!

Socks with Heels: Do You Dare

Its seems like the socks with heels trend is finally catching on. I noticed it last year while blog hopping and silently hoped it was something that would soon fade away but its proving that it's here to stay. Designers such as John Galliano and Dsquared2 had their models working the runway wearing this trend. I've see this looks on celebs from Rihanna to my style icon Sarah Jessica Parker.
